MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

Student
Open to students aged 18 and above who are pursuing their studies in engineering or any field related to engineering.

Affiliate
Open to individuals aged 18 and above who are interested in engineering education.

Institution
Open to institutions or organizations which are involved in engineering education. Each institution or organization is allowed to send two representatives to attend the SEEM Annual General Meeting.

Ordinary
Open to individuals aged 18 and above who fulfills one of the following requirements:
– A background or expertise in engineering field
– A bachelor degree or equivalent qualifications related to engineering
– Experienced in research, consultancy work, teaching or research in engineering field

Fellow
35 years and above & has been an Ordinary Member for 5 years. Professionals who has noteworthy contributions in the engineering education field in any organisations / institutions and have been in position of major responsibility in administration & management of important engineering works.

Honorary Fellow*
40 years and above & has been an Ordinary Member for 5 years. Professionals appointed by the committee and have significant contributions in the engineering education field in any organisations / institutions and have been in position of major responsibility in administration & management of important engineering works.

Institutional Representatives for AGM: All institutional memberships are entitled to send 2 representatives to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for voting & members of the institutions are eligible for the same benefits as above.

Notes

Only Ordinary, representatives of Institutional Members and Fellows are entitled to vote during the Annual General Meeting.
Appointment as Committee Members is conducted during the Annual General Meeting/Special Annual General Meeting.
Membership for undergraduate students will be considered with the written approvals from the Vice-Chancellors of their respective universities.
Individuals who are interested to apply for membership need to fill in the membership form online for the committee’s approval. The committee has the right to accept or reject any applications with discretion.
