CALL FOR EXTENDED ABSTRACT

The 6th International Innovative Practices in Higher Education Expo ( I-PHEX 2024 ) is the best platform for you to showcase your innovative practices, which can be shared and emulated by academics in higher education worldwide.

Like the previous year, I-PHEX 2024 is jointly organised by the Society of Engineering Education Malaysia (SEEM) and the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES). This is the sixth I-PHEX to be organized as an international exhibition to recognise and award efforts to improve higher education.

This year’s I-PHEX will be held on September 19th and 20th, along with various other exciting programs and activities, as part of the SEEM 15th Anniversary Celebration.

Participants may choose only one category from the following:

a. Laboratory / Hands-on Learning
b. Curriculum Innovation
c. Innovative Assessment
d. Teaching and Learning Resources (with or without Technology)
e. Innovative Student Supervision (Undergraduate or Postgraduate)
f. Multidisciplinary Learning (e.g.: co-curriculum, service learning, etc.)
g. Special Academic Support Programs
h. Education for Sustainable Development
i. Innovative Student-Centred Learning Approaches
j. Others

Submission

Academics worldwide are invited to submit a minimum of a 1000-word extended abstract, which must be written using the I-PHEX2024_Template. Submissions must have been practised and implemented in higher education for at least two (2) academic semesters. The abstracts of accepted submissions will be published in a book with an ISBN. All submissions can be submitted here.

Final version of Extended Abstract Deadline: 15 August 2024

Rules & Regulations

  1. The exhibition is open to academic staff at public and private higher education institutions (UA/US/IPTA/IPTS) worldwide.
  2. The innovation must be related to the participants’ practices.
  3. All participants must produce their A0-sized poster.
  4. An extended abstract of 1000–1500 words must be submitted using the template provided.
  5. If the evidence concerns individual students, educators, or institutions (e.g., video recordings, names, marks, assignment reports), their consent must be sought before registration.
  6. There are ten categories of innovation. The participants can only choose one category that best describes the innovation.
  7. There are nine judging criteria. Gold, silver and bronze medals will be given to each category, provided the total score exceeds 60%. Special awards will be given based on the judges recommendations.
  8. The judges’ decisions are final, and no appeal will be entertained.
  9. The participants must be present at the booth during the judging. No special arrangements will be made if they fail to do so.
  10. The posters and other relevant supporting evidence must be brought to the booth during the judging.
  11. The presentation should be in English.
